MLB.com At Bat 2010 iPhone app diary day 38 Roy Halladay Will Help the Phillies

Posted by Drew Zeitlin.:

Hello Everybody. As by now you know we are taking a look back at the first month of the baseball season and going over and revising our prediction that we made at the start of the season. We were a little raw with our 2010 baseball knowledge back then. We are better now with the players and the make-up of the teams and thought we might be able to upgrade those picks. We have revised the AL East, NL West, and the NL Central in previous posts. It is time to pick up the diary for the MLB.com At Bat 2010 iPhone app once again. Today will be day 38. Also today we are going to finish up the National League and focus on NL East.

A quick review of our predictions before the season shows us with the Phillies coming in first, The Marlins in the second slot, the Braves occupying the third position, with Mets and the Nationals rounding it out. We don't believe what we are seeing but we would not and we will not make any changes to this early season prediction, we like it. The thing that has changed is now we can tell you why we like these teams in those positions. First off we the Phillies are the best team in the National League. The have the best hitting team by far. They were the World Series winners in 2008 and the National League champions in 2009. In the off season they added one of the best pitchers in baseball to their staff in Roy Halladay. That should make them better. Of course there are injuries and teams can get hot, but this looks to be a lock.

As for the rest of the division, we really like the Marlins. One of the things we always like about a team is enthusiasm and pitching. We think the Marlins have that enthusiasm and that pitching, well it is Major League Baseball and pitching staffs are hard to gage. The Braves on the other hand, has the most promising rookie in all of baseball in Jason Heyward. He looks like the real deal. The Braves have a solid team but not enough to catch the Phillies. The Mets do have the potential to make a run at the Phillies but over a course of 162 games we think you will see the holes this team has. Here is a team that we like for the next couple of years but not this season. The Nationals are building themselves a very nice team. There are still holes in the line-up and the pitching staff but they have potential. We like what they are doing in the speed game.

Another feature we love from the MLB.com At Bat 2010 is in the video section. Every morning we watch MLB.com FastCast and it is fast. It is a wrap of the previous day's game. They show at least one highlight from each game and the whole FastCast goes for about three minutes. A great and fast way to catch anything you might have missed in the previous day. If you like to read all the post of this diary click here and you will be taken to our blog where you will see all the post in order. Till next time.
